    Veterinarian
My name is Kelly Cummins-Brown and I was born and raised in a New York City suburb in New Jersey.  I received my bachelor degree in Neurobiology/Animal Physiology from Purdue University in 1994.  After graduation, I worked several years as a zoo keeper for the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden.  I attended veterinary school at the Ohio State University and did my preceptorship with a board certified exotic animal specialist in Milford, Ohio.  I joined the Animal Care Center in July 2000, and purchased the practice in January 2007.  My family and I share our home with a domestic shorthair (Zeke), a labradoodle (Ginny), a Hahne's macaw (Isa), a budgie (Palpatine), a love bird (Nicky), and numerous fish.  My special interest areas are exotic animal medicine/surgery and soft tissue surgery.  I spend a lot of my free time volunteering for the Girl Scouts of Southern  Illinois as leader of 2 troops, Service Unit Manager/Treasurer, and Delegate.

Hi, my name is Theresa.  I've been in animal rescue since 2000.  I love animals of all shapes and sizes.  I have been working in the veterinary field since 2005 and have been with the Animal Care Center since July 2007.  While I work full time at a realtor's office, I can still be seen here on Saturdays.  I have 2 dogs and a rabbit.  I also have the love of my life, my daughter Hollie.  We love to ride horses together and play on the farm.
  • Leeah

    Kennel Staff
Hi, my name is Leeah.  I am a senior in high school and I live with my black labrador (Libby) and a silly pit bull (Lou).  I love being outdoors, cooking, and going on adventures with my family and friends.  The Animal Care Center gave me the first job I've ever had, and I am so glad to have the opportunity to meet and work with your pets.  My favorite part of the job is getting to play with so many animals.
  • Minnie

Minnie came to us as a shy old lady, but after some time her personality blossomed!  She loves to cuddle in our laps and enjoys attention from children and adults.  Her favorite pass time is wandering around the clinic talking as loudly as her lungs will allow to anyone willing to listen.  Our original plan was to find a traditional home for her.  But, her sweet, tender personality won our hearts.  Minnie is forever home at the Animal Care Center.
